Donald Trump Interview Lifts Fox News Channel’s ‘Hannity’ to 4-Month Ratings High

Donald Trump remains ratings gold for Fox News Channel, as Sean Hannity’s interview with the Republican presidential hopeful produced the top demo score for any cable news program on Tuesday night.

Less than a week after FNC set cable news ratings records for the first primetime GOP debate of the 2016 election cycle, “Hannity” averaged 628,000 adults 25-54 on Tuesday for its exclusive interview with Trump. With its top delivery since April, “Hannity” beat the combined 10 p.m. demo totals of CNN (170,000 for “CNN Tonight”) and MSNBC (101,000 for “Last Word With Lawrence O’Donnell”).

Compared to the same night a year ago in the hour, “Hannity” spiked by 138% while CNN was down about 5% and MSNBC lost more than a third of its audience.

Among all cable news programs for the night, “Hannity” ranked No. 1 in adults 25-54 – ahead of FNC skedmates “The Kelly File” (503,000) and “The O’Reilly Factor” (421,000), with Eric Bolling filling in as guest host for Bill O’Reilly on the latter. In total viewers, “Kelly” drew 2.678 million to lead the way among cable news programs, followed by “O’Reilly” (2.479 million) and “Hannity” (2.232 million).

Tuesday’s interview was Trump’s first appearance on Fox News in the days since he complained about the interview tactics of the network’s Megyn Kelly, one of the moderators for last Thursday’s debate from Cleveland. Talking with Hannity, the billionaire businessman touted his standing in the latest GOP election polls, and also laid out specific policy proposals for Obamacare, Planned Parenthood and the economy.

Last week’s GOP debate lifted Fox News to its highest-rated week since the Iraq War in 2003.

Donald Trump might be a like course around the edges but at least he isn’t shoving America’s problems under the rug. He is telling us like it is. Another thing there is so much crooked work and cover-up in Washington today and the people that are involved aren’t being prosecuted because our present
President doesn’t want them prosecuted. When some one can tell me it was okay for Mrs. Clinton to sit there and pound her fist of the table and saying “what difference does it make” after four of our soldiers were killed in Bengazi. These four special men were some ones son, brother, nephew, uncle or cousin.
No our President signs a deal with Iraqi on nuclear arms deal and he thinks they are going to abide by this.

Hannity has offered his show to all candidate and would be candidates, giving them an open forum.
People are watching because Trump has the “celebrity” and “speaks his mind” attributes people want to watch/hear.
CNN and MSNBC should shut down their talking pundits and make the same open forum offer to candidates – both on the left A-N-D right. Then they should be booking Bernie Sanders, O’Malley and Warren to get the same ratings effect on the left.

In the debate Fox News never asked Trump a serious question. The Kelly statement (really never was a question, just a crazy accusation) quoted Trump specifically talking about Rosie ODonnell defending Miss USA against Rosie’s hideous, vulgar comments. By taking this out of context Kelly started to show her true colors… she then built into her statement an exchange with Brett Michaels (know who HE is?) on the Celebrity Apprentice show where Michaels (NOT Trump) made the “on her knees” comment about a Playboy centerfold… Trump just responded and moved on…. If this is the worst Fox could come up with after weeks of research, pouring over all the footage of Trump… they should be ashamed and YES Kelly should be apologizing to Trump.
Right off the bat the bias was clear with the “pledge”… when have they EVER done that before? Clearly directed at Trump.
Then the “proof” question by Chris Mattews… er… Wallace… seriously? He asked for PROOF that Mexico is sending criminals to invade the United States?… REALLY? I am surprised the room didn’t break out in laughter…
This interview with Hannity, was an attempt by Fox management to save face after the botched attempt to bring Trump down in the “debate”… I no longer watch Fox News.

For one hour each evening, I’m a CNN fan. Yeah, sorry, but megan kelly’s PERSONAL attack on Trump (the two guys were pretty bad too) has made it so I get physically ill when I see her face. So no “kelly file”, but I still enjoy Hannity, O’Reilly and other shows on FOX. And it’s really, REALLY funny to see CNN for that hour, how they’re taking a little “right” turn in a lot of the coverage I see and are very happy to have more conservative guests lately. They KNOW it’s time to seize the moment and that there are lots of other viewers like me too grossed out to watch megan.

I love great journalism and reporting. Hers has slipped or should I say collapsed. Anyway, Newsmax is another alternative that I am tuning into. Just stright forward news from Newsmax. I want to make up my own opinions with the news reported in truth and facts. Fox News used to be my go to morning and night. Not so much since the “Debate”.

I really, really believe that if Trump does not make it, that many Americans will just stay home and forego voting altogether. Its just not worth it to keep voting for folks who have to sell themselves to the highest bidder for donations. Politicians MUST cater to the wealthy to continue funding their campaigns, and this poses a HUGE problem for me. A bought and paid-for politician is NOT going to change much. Megan Kelly should not host any more Presidential debates. Personally I think she is not the virtuous women’s right activist she pretended to be. Kelly went on to Howard Stern’s show giggling and using all the anatomical racy language and discussing about her husbands private parts.. who she would **** etc.,she is simply a hypocrite and not a serious journalist. Hannity should be on the next debate moderator team, not Kelly. I always watched the Kelly file… will watch Greta, O’Reilly and Hannity, but never Kelly File again

exactly. and this is why i and other women are furious about it. she trivialized true sexism. Greta is a true journalist. i imagine eventually Kelly will ride off in the sunset, maybe go to another network who hires bimbos and news babes. or maybe she will repent and admit her hypocrisy and change her mind and direction. forgiveness can be found if she does.

Her next gig will be one of the majors. Think NBC wouldn’t rather have her than Chuck Todd, or Andrea Mitchell? Kelly is moderately conservative, but she’s seeing the value in hiding that, and going on to bigger deals. Why be the next Bill O’Reilly when you can be the next Tim Russert or Barbara Walters?

I agree–Hannity is a gentleman and handled Donald with professionalism and courtesy–he deserves that after the terrible/unfair treatment at the 1st GOP debate–and Meghan Kelly had the option to choose “other” questions relative to the presidential candidacy–I wonder if she asked Carly Fiorina tasteless questions what her response would have been. Aisles was right in his attempt to “smooth over” the situation and it turned out a “hit” for him and his colleagues–time to put Hannity back in the 9:00 pm slot and I don’t care where Meghan goes–maybe she should get a job in Baltimore!!!!

Yes, megan can hate Trump all she wants…she can like or hate anyone she wants. But when supposedly acting as an un-biased, professional journalist in moderating a debate, she made a fool of herself by showing her PERSONAL disdain for Trump and clearly treating him in an un-fair manner. Not only the questions, but the badgering along the way. The little beir and wallace junior weren’t much better either. It was a total disgrace. People that don’t like Trump should at least admit that in a national debate broadcast, he should be treated fairly like all the others. He was not and people will not forget this outrage.

From a patriotic perspective , allowing the entrance of endless immigrants with an alien culture as well as historicaly hostille to our own, will most likely end in severe ethnic tensions, doing it on a massive scale without even asking the people consent, deportation of all immigrants its not just morally aceptable it’s a must, the thirld world invaders will just continue to breed like rats, increase their numbers on our soil, rape, beat, steal our people, position themselves in key positions of power in society, while we pay for it all with our taxes.

We know he’s not a full “conservative”. If someone say’s Donald Trump was pro choice or too liberal,
On June 14, 1967, Ronald Reagan signed the Therapeutic Abortion Act, after only six months as California governor. From a total of 518 legal abortions in California in 1967, the number of abortions would soar to an annual average of 100,000 in the remaining years of Reagan’s two terms — more abortions than in any U.S. state prior to the advent of Roe v. Wade. Reagan’s signing of the abortion bill was an ironic beginning for a man often seen as the modern father of the pro-life movement
.”Ronald Reagan’s signature on the 1986 amnesty act brought about Barack Obama’s election,” Rep Steve King said in the May 23, 2013, speech.
King’s point was that a side effect of the 1986 law was to boost the numbers of Hispanic voters — so many Hispanics were made legal by the law, he argues, that the number exceeded Obama’s margin of victory.

He has become more Conservative over the years on certain issues such as the 2nd which is a foreign concept in NYC. Read his full statements and watch his interviews over the years. After he declared his candidacy DeBlasio said in a press conference that due to his horrible comments the city would try to get out of all contracts held by Trump and would never work with him again. Clearly you did not watch the debate. Rubio most certainly was thrown a hard question, as were most others, which he answered and took flack for. It has to do with abortion and his assertion that he’d make no exception for rape or incest. Not a good move for him.
And for anyone to say the questions were inappropriate for a debate, just what questions are appropriate….softball questions like what kind of underwear do you wear? Fox moderators did an excellent job and probably the best I’ve seen. The purpose of the debates is to find out where the candidates stand on the issues, as well as to get a sense of their character and abilities.
Much as I love the the dust up caused by Trump and as much as I agree with some of his assertions, he simply tries to bully anyone who criticizes him or throws him a hard questions. He’s a very smart and able man but one has to wonder if he really thinks he can bully his way with people like Putin or the Mullahs in Iran. I like that he would be really tough and not a weak kneed, incompetent apologist like Obama, but he needs to show more restraint and finesse in what he says. So far, we haven’t seen much of that.
Finally, as much as you hate it, Fox News is the very best news organization in television, both in cable and in broadcasting. That is precisely why their numbers keep rising. MSNBC is an utter failure and CNN is not doing much better but they make a more of an effort than MSNBC.

Hannity is a liar and never gets his facts correct. Trump is a child in a grown up body. There is nothing intelligent about this man. He did poorly in school. He left Wharton after 2 years, never graduated from the school. His grades were adequate. Wharton would not have excepted him except for his Dad and name recognition. He does not do his own negotiations. He has people doing them for him. He is deeply in debt with many banks. He does not own any property in New York except the hotel he lives in. He gets a fee to have his name on some properties. The people in Scotland hate him because he was very obnoxious and lied to them about his golf course being built there. He turned off their water and promised thousands and thousands of jobs and only a few received the jobs. Do your research on this nothing of a man. He has no resolutions and the ones he has don’t even make sense. He, of course, will never be our President. His brain is a hot mess. As far as the other GOP candidates, they are against the poor, blacks, latinos, women and a Republican will never step foot in the WHITE HOUSE in 2016 and, hopefully, never again.

Trump has started 128 businesses so far and only 4 ran into problems.
This gives him a New Business failure rate of ONLY 3.22% while the National Average New Business failure rate is 40%!
And with these 4 businesses, he filed Chapter 11 bankruptsies instead of personal bankruptcies. This allowed him to:
    1. Restructure those businesses.
    2. Pay off all debt WITHOUT using any taxpayer money.
    3. KEEP ALL EMPLOYEES!

    Nothing intelligent about Trump?
    Are you kidding?!
    But you’re calling HIM dumb?
How many successful businesses have YOU started?
